Most companies or organizations throughout America have what are called Performance Standards. These standards refer to expectations of each and every employee throughout an organization and are the performance levels by which they will be evaluated. At Mt Graham Regional Medical Center, we have had performance standards in place for a number of years. However, after a reevaluation of our standards in 2009, it was deemed the right time for a new set of standards which would be simple and easy to remember. The mission of our new Performance Standards is to emphasize above all else, the importance of people. As such, the overarching theme of our standards is "People First!" From there, seven areas have been deemed to be the most important when working with patients, visitors and other staff members. They are:
Within the hospital, each of these areas has been defined and each staff member has signed a pledge to abide by these identified standards. To go along with the Performance Standards, a logo has emerged, making appearances all over the hospital. This logo is affectionately referred to as Patches. Each piece of Patches is assigned the first letter of one of the above standards as well as a different color. Together the pieces make up a person which underlines the importance of the People First message. Underneath the Patches we include the message to every person within our hospital, "We Value You." So on your next visit to MGRMC, be on the lookout for the Patches. He is our reminder that you are what we value most.
