COPE Charity Care

As a part of our commitment to improving community health, Mt Graham Regional Medical Center appropriately serves patients in difficult financial circumstances and offers financial assistance to those who have an established need to receive medically necessary medical services.

The Mt Graham Regional Medical Center COPE program is an uncompensated care service that allows qualifying candidates to have a portion of their entire bill reduced by Mt Graham Regional Medical Center. Applications are available to anyone who wishes to apply.

Patients who qualify for COPE will normally be classified in one of the following categories:

A. Medically Indigent:

Individuals who do not have any government or commercial insurance coverage, yet their annual income may be above the US Department of Health and Human Services poverty guidelines.

B. Federally Indigent:

Individuals who do not have any government or commercial insurance coverage and their income is below the US Department of Health and Human Services poverty guideline.

C. Deceased, No Estate:

Individuals whose income may have exceeded the Federal Poverty Guidelines for the prior year, but because of the death of the guarantor or spouse, they do not have the income or assets from an estate necessary to meet their responsibility of paying for their health care services.

D. Financial Hardship:

Individuals covered by Medicare or private insurance who are unable to meet their responsibility of paying out-of-pocket costs. These individuals may apply for COPE.
